Tag 1 | Day 1 • FLYING BEETLES Workshop
DE | Masterclass FLYING BEETLES
In diesem Workshop werden die Grenzen des Materials erweitert, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf Farbe, Muster und Form liegt. Die Teilnehmer lernen, wie man Broschen mit flexiblen Fühlern, beweglichen Flügeln sowie versteckten Designelementen wie nahtlosen Oberflächen und strukturierten Rückseiten herstellt. Das Ziel besteht darin, tragbare Kunstwerke zu erschaffen, die filigran wirken und gleichzeitig voller Leben sind. Dabei wird eine Balance zwischen geometrischer Abstraktion und organischer Bewegung hergestellt.
Du gestaltest deine eigene Flying-Beetle-Brosche und lernst dabei verschiedene Polymer-Clay-Techniken sowie das Arbeiten mit präzisen Details. Der Prozess ist anspruchsvoll, aber dennoch zugänglich, sodass jede/r Teilnehmer/in seine eigene künstlerische Ausdruckskraft entwickeln kann, ohne von der Technik überschattet zu werden. So wie kleine Zahnräder eine Maschine antreiben, sind es die feinsten Details, die ein Kunstwerk wirklich zum Leben erwecken.
Der Kurs richtet sich an Personen mit etwas Erfahrung im Umgang mit Polymer Clay. Aber auch Anfänger können problemlos mitmachen, da der Prozess für alle Kenntnisstufen zugänglich ist. Das Beste an dieser Technik ist, dass sie angepasst und personalisiert werden kann. So kann jede/r Teilnehmer/in das Endergebnis ganz nach den eigenen Vorstellungen gestalten. Am Ende des Wochenendes nimmst du wertvolle Tipps und Tricks sowie eine einzigartige Flying-Beetle-Brosche mit nach Hause, die ganz auf deinen Stil und deine künstlerische Ausdrucksweise zugeschnitten ist.
EN | Masterclass FLYING BEETLES
This workshop pushes the boundaries of the material while emphasizing color, pattern, and form. Participants will learn how to construct brooches with flexible antennae, movable wings, and hidden design elements, such as seamless finishes and textured backs. The goal is to create wearable art that feels both delicate and full of life, balancing geometric abstraction with organic movement.
In this one-day class, you’ll learn to create your own Flying Beetle brooch while mastering various polymer clay techniques and precise detailing. The process is challenging yet approachable, allowing each participant to develop their unique artistic voice without being overshadowed by the technique itself. Just as small gears drive a machine, it’s the finest details that truly bring an artwork to life.
This class is designed for those with some experience in polymer clay, though beginners can easily follow along, as the process is accessible to all skill levels. The best part of this technique is that it can be adapted and personalized, allowing each participant to make the final piece truly their own. By the end of the weekend, you’ll take home valuable tips and tricks—along with a unique Flying Beetle brooch customized to your style and artistic expression, making the piece feel like your original idea.

At the end of the class Lucy will organize a raffle for all the attendees with valuable items and exclusive products.

Each attendee will receive a step-by-step printed tutorial guide to easily follow and recall the class.

Lucy will also bring part of her shop with her, where you can shop to your heart’s content. All participants can also place orders with Lucy before the event and receive a 15% discount. Sie war 2013 Mitbegründerin von Lucy Clay Tools und entwickelte die Polymer Week – eine dynamische Plattform mit Online- und Präsenzveranstaltungen, einem Magazin und Society, einer globalen kreativen Community für Polymer-Clay-Enthusiasten.
Bekannt für ihr offenes Charisma, Präzision und die Hingabe für ihr Handwerk, bringt sie diese Eigenschaften in ihre Kunstwerke ein und schafft präzise und organische Formen, klare Linien und individuelle Farbpaletten. Nach fünfzehn Jahren Arbeit mit diesem Medium, der Entwicklung eigener Produkte und der Mitgestaltung der internationalen Polymer Clay-Community hat sie ihren Schwerpunkt auf das Unterrichten und die Weitergabe ihres Wissens durch Workshops, Projekte und innovative Inhalte verlagert.

She co-founded Lucy Clay Tools in 2013 and later envisioned and built Polymer Week — a dynamic platform featuring online and in-person events, the Polymer Week Magazine, and Society, a global creative community for polymer clay enthusiasts.
Known for her open charisma, precision, and deep dedication to the craft, she brings these qualities into her artwork, creating precise yet organic shapes, clean lines, and custom color palettes. After fifteen years of working with the medium, developing her own products, and helping shape the international polymer clay community, she has shifted her focus toward teaching and sharing her knowledge through workshops, projects, and innovative content.
Lucy has taught across Europe and in Australia, sharing her expertise with artists from around the world.

Der zweite Tag unseres Jubiläums-Spektakels steht wie immer unter dem Motto „Clayen bis der Arzt kommt“. Erlebe interessante Gespräche, lerne neue Leute kennen, triff alte Bekannte wieder. Wie immer ist das spektakel eine tolle Gelegenheit, zusammen mit anderen Clay-Begeisterten kreativ zu sein.

The second day of our anniversary Spektakel will, as always, be held under the motto “Clay until the doctor comes.” Experience interesting conversations, meet new people, and reconnect with old acquaintances. As always, the spectacle is a great opportunity to be creative together with other clay enthusiasts.
